Kunal Nayyar, who portrayed Rajesh 'Raj' Koothrappali on The Big Bang Theory, revealed that he frequently broke character due to laughter, especially during scenes with co-star Simon Helberg, which frustrated his fellow cast members. Nayyar admitted on The Official Big Bang Theory Podcast that he was "the worst in the beginning" because he "broke all the time," often struggling to keep a straight face during filming. He praised Helberg's comedic timing and delivery, noting that even simple lines like "Friday works for me" were hard for him to resist laughing at. Despite the challenges, Nayyar and the entire main cast remained throughout the show's 12-season run, which aired from 2007 to 2019 and produced popular spinoffs such as Young Sheldon and Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage.
