The division bench rejected SpiceJet's appeal and directed the airline to return the engines within 15 days. SpiceJet, which operates 21 aircraft, argued that grounding the planes would disrupt its operations, but the court emphasized the airline's financial struggles and failure to meet payment obligations. The court highlighted that allowing SpiceJet to use the engines without paying would be unfair to the lessors. SpiceJet has the option to approach the Supreme Court for further relief. The airline has made efforts to settle dues, including proposals for additional payments and securing funds through loans or equity.
