Jerry Cantrell Launches Spoken Word Series

Jerry Cantrell, the guitarist and vocalist of Alice In Chains, has launched a spoken-word series reimagining his latest solo album, 'I Want Blood', with new animated versions of the tracks debuting every Thursday. The first installment features the song 'Vilified' and includes video animations by Boy Tillekens. In a recent podcast interview, Cantrell explained that the project began as a one-off B-side for 'Vilified,' where he recorded a spoken-word rendition of the lyrics and collaborated with Maxwell Urasky for backing music. Inspired by producer Joe Barresi's suggestion, he expanded the concept to include nine pieces with unique musical interpretations from his friends and collaborators. The series showcases a blend of poetry and music, creating standalone pieces distinct from the original album. Cantrell is also set to embark on a North American tour starting January 31, 2024, with Filter opening for him on all dates.
