South Korean Duo Win Dow Championship, Deny Lexi Thompson LPGA Title

South Korean golfers Somi Lee and Jin Hee Im won the Dow Championship in a playoff, denying American Lexi Thompson her first LPGA title since 2019. The playoff, which switched to a foursomes format on the 18th hole, ended when Lee made an 8-foot birdie putt after Thompson's partner Megan Khang missed a critical 5-foot birdie attempt. Thompson and Khang had earlier posted a 20-under 260 total in fourballs format, leading briefly before Lee's birdie on the 17th tied the match. Im and Lee, both in their second year on the LPGA Tour, claimed their first American titles, adding to their multiple wins on the Korea LPGA Tour. Thompson, who has scaled back her playing schedule, has not indicated when she will next compete. The Dow Championship remains the only official team event on the LPGA schedule, with the next tournament being the Evian Championship in France.
