James V. George, a 38-year-old assistant professor at Sacred Heart College in Thevara, tragically died during Onam celebrations on September 11, 2024. After participating in a tug-of-war event, he experienced dizziness and collapsed while resting, despite initial checks indicating stability. Emergency medical efforts at a nearby hospital could not revive him, and he was pronounced dead shortly after. George, who joined the college in 2014, was a respected academic involved in various educational initiatives and was pursuing a PhD in Finance. He is survived by his wife, Sona, an assistant professor at Newman College, and their two-year-old son. The college community is mourning his loss, with public homage scheduled before his burial in Thodupuzha.
