Sequel to Netflix Hit 'Under Paris' in Development

Netflix is developing a sequel to the hit French shark movie 'Under Paris', which garnered over 102 million views, making it the most-watched non-English language film on the platform. Director Xavier Gens will return, along with key cast members Bérénice Bejo as a grieving activist and Nassim Lyes as a police officer. The sequel is expected to start filming in September 2025, although some reports suggest it could be pushed to 2026. Gens indicated that the sequel will explore a Paris submerged underwater, following the post-apocalyptic themes of the original film. The first film was released in June 2024, coinciding with the World Triathlon Championships set in Paris. Despite criticism in France, the film's satirical edge and thrilling plot have created substantial anticipation for the sequel.
