Malik Nabers to Wear Retired No. 1 Jersey

Malik Nabers, the New York Giants' rookie wide receiver, will wear the No. 1 jersey this season, a number that has not been used since 1935 when it was retired in honor of Ray Flaherty. This marks the first-ever instance of a retired NFL jersey being unretired in history. Nabers, who was drafted sixth overall and previously wore No. 9 in training, needed a new number as it is held by punter Graham Gano, while his college number No. 8 belongs to quarterback Daniel Jones.
