Catherine Perry Charged with Murder in South Shore Stabbing
Catherine Perry, 34, has been charged with first-degree murder and attempted arson in connection with the fatal stabbing of 61-year-old Tony Landers, a mute lung cancer patient, in Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood on October 14, 2024. Landers was found dead in his home in the 7100 block of South East End Avenue, and police arrested Perry on Tuesday in the 1800 block of East 71st Street. Authorities have not disclosed a motive, the nature of Perry’s relationship to the victim, or details about the arson attempt. Perry is scheduled to appear at a detention hearing on Friday, and the investigation remains ongoing.
