Teen Arrested in Pompano Beach Shooting

Nicolas Yves Achille, a 17-year-old from Plantation, has been arrested for a shooting that injured two individuals near Blanche Ely High School in Pompano Beach on October 5. The Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) responded to reports of shots fired around 9:44 p.m. during a football game, but confirmed the incident was not connected to the game itself. One victim was found at the scene with non-life-threatening injuries, while a second victim, Chris Williams, was transported to a hospital by Lauderhill Fire Rescue. Following a Crime Stoppers tip, Achille was identified as the suspect and arrested on October 11 in Fort Lauderdale, facing two counts of attempted first-degree murder. The investigation revealed that the shooting occurred in a nearby area, affirming that there was no link to the school activities.
