Atlanta Dream Announces New Coaching Staff

The Atlanta Dream has announced the hiring of LaToya Sanders and Brandi Poole as assistant coaches and the promotion of Brooklyn Cartwright to assistant general manager. Head Coach Karl Smesko praised Sanders and Poole for their invaluable WNBA experience and deep postseason success, which he believes will help build a winning culture in Atlanta. Sanders joins after three years with the Washington Mystics, where she was an associate head coach and played a key role in the 2019 championship team. Poole has over two decades of coaching experience, including five years with the Connecticut Sun, where she contributed to a 105-53 record and two Finals appearances. Both coaches expressed their excitement about joining the Dream, emphasizing their commitment to the team's growth and success. Cartwright, who has been with the Dream since 2021, will now take on a more prominent role in shaping the organization’s vision.
