Missing Weybridge Rower's Body Recovered from Thames
A man's body has been recovered from the River Thames near Sunbury Weir, following a 10-day search after a rowing boat capsized on October 11. The missing individual, a member of the Weybridge Rowing Club in his 60s, was among six people who entered the water; five were rescued. Formal identification of the body has not yet occurred, but the man's family has been informed and is being supported by specialist officers. The incident is under investigation, though it is not considered suspicious. Emergency services, including Surrey Police and various search and rescue teams, were involved in the extensive search efforts. Chief Inspector Andy Jenkins extended condolences to the family, urging respect for their privacy during this difficult time.
