Robbie Williams Announces BRITPOP Album Featuring Tony Iommi, Autumn Release Expected
Robbie Williams is set to release his new album 'BRITPOP' this autumn via Columbia Records, marking a return to the guitar-driven sound reminiscent of the mid-1990s Britpop era that inspired his career after leaving Take That. The lead single, 'Rocket', features Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi and is characterized by raw, upbeat, and anthemic rock elements, with a music video showcasing Williams and Iommi in London and Birmingham alongside a flash mob. Williams described the album as the work he always wanted to create after departing Take That in 1995, emphasizing its blend of 'Brit' and 'pop' influences and expressing pride in the record. To support the album, Williams has renamed his previously planned 'Robbie Williams Live 2025' tour to the 'BRITPOP Tour', which launches in Edinburgh on May 31, 2025, and includes UK, Irish, and European dates, with tickets currently on sale. The album's artwork features iconic imagery from Williams' 1995 Glastonbury Festival appearance, linking back to the era of his well-known association and rivalry with Oasis members Liam and Noel Gallagher. Fans have the opportunity to pre-order the album with a chance to win meet and greet passes for the tour.
