Fugitive Arrest Leads to Homicide Investigation in Ohio
Darrell Carter Jr., a fugitive wanted for failing to appear in court on an assault charge in Stark County, Ohio, was arrested by the Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team in Canal Winchester, near Columbus. During the arrest, authorities discovered the body of an unidentified woman in the basement of the home where Carter was residing. The U.S. Marshals Service, along with local law enforcement, is investigating the woman's identity and cause of death, though there is currently no indication if Carter is involved in her death. U.S. Marshal Michael Black expressed confidence in the local authorities' ability to conduct a thorough investigation. The arrest was the result of diligent work by the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, which tracked Carter's movements after he fled Stark County.
