Kyle Walker To Join Burnley After Man City Exit
Kyle Walker, the 35-year-old England international and former Manchester City captain, is set to join newly-promoted Burnley in a permanent transfer worth up to £5 million, pending completion of his medical. He will sign a two-year contract at Turf Moor and reunite with Burnley manager Scott Parker, his former Tottenham teammate. Walker spent the latter half of last season on loan at AC Milan, but the Italian club declined to make the move permanent. His departure is expected to save Manchester City up to £10 million in wages and bonuses. During his eight-year tenure at City, Walker won 17 major trophies, including six Premier League titles and the 2023 Champions League. The move is seen as a major coup for Burnley, and Walker aims to remain in contention for the England squad.
