Man Charged Over £590,000 Romance Fraud Across Multiple UK Regions

Marc Cole-Jones, a 52-year-old man from Donnington, Telford, has been charged with 22 counts of fraud by false representation related to a romance fraud case involving six victims across Cheshire, Lancashire, Shropshire, Warwickshire, Manchester, and the West Midlands. The alleged fraud spanned from 2009 to 2024, with a total value of more than £590,000. Cole-Jones, who is also known by the names Marc Cole and Marc Sands, was investigated by Cheshire Police’s economic crime unit. He has been bailed and is scheduled to appear before Warrington Magistrates’ Court on August 18. The case highlights a prolonged and widespread series of alleged fraudulent activities targeting multiple victims over a 15-year period. Authorities continue to pursue justice in this significant economic crime investigation.
