Scottish DJ JD Twitch dies at 57 after brain tumour battle

Keith McIvor, known as JD Twitch, the Scottish DJ and producer and one half of the influential duo Optimo, has died at age 57 following a diagnosis of an untreatable brain tumour earlier this year. He passed away peacefully at the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice in Glasgow, as announced by his music partner Jonnie Wilkes, who paid heartfelt tribute to McIvor's intense passion for life, music, creativity, and positive change. Together, McIvor and Wilkes ran the Optimo Espacio club night at Glasgow's Sub Club from 1997 to 2010, shaping a beloved and eclectic music scene with over 650 performances and a lasting legacy. McIvor began his DJ career in Edinburgh, pioneering club nights like Pure, before moving to Glasgow where he expanded his musical influence. Wilkes expressed deep gratitude for their 28-year partnership and highlighted McIvor's unwavering belief in collective strength and community.
