Tom Cruise Praises Ex-Wife Nicole Kidman in Rare Interview

Tom Cruise recently reflected on his experience working with his ex-wife Nicole Kidman in Stanley Kubrick's 1999 film Eyes Wide Shut, praising her talent and their collaboration. Cruise shared that he suggested Kidman for the role of Alice after getting to know Kubrick and reading the script, emphasizing her status as a great actress. Although the film's production was initially expected to last three or four months, it extended to 15 months due to Kubrick's perfectionism. Cruise highlighted the detailed preparation and close working relationship he sought with Kubrick to create something special. Despite the movie depicting an unhappy marriage, both Cruise and Kidman stated they were happily married during filming. Cruise's comments were part of a broader interview with Sight and Sound magazine ahead of receiving a prestigious BFI Fellowship.
