This move comes after Højlund was sidelined following Manchester United's acquisition of Benjamin Šeško, pushing him down the pecking order and limiting his playing opportunities. Napoli, needing a striker due to Romelu Lukaku's serious injury, are confident of securing Højlund, who could see his salary increase significantly upon the move.
