Byron Buxton Activated from Injured List

Byron Buxton is set to be activated from the injured list prior to the Minnesota Twins' game against the Cincinnati Reds, marking his return after over a month due to right hip inflammation. Manager Rocco Baldelli confirmed the move following the Twins' recent victory over the Los Angeles Angels, indicating that outfielder Austin Martin will be optioned to Triple-A St. Paul to accommodate Buxton. Buxton has had a productive season so far, hitting .275 with 16 home runs and 49 RBIs across 90 games, and his return is particularly crucial as the Twins struggle to maintain their playoff position after losing 16 of their last 21 games. The team is currently just three games ahead of the Detroit Tigers in the AL Central race. Buxton's presence, alongside potentially Carlos Correa's return, could significantly impact the Twins' performance in the upcoming critical series against Cleveland and Boston as they aim to recover from a four-game losing streak.
