Teen Arrested in Tacoma School Shooting
A 16-year-old boy, identified as D.W-T., has been arrested and charged as an adult with first-degree assault and unlawful possession of a firearm after allegedly shooting another 16-year-old outside Lincoln High School in Tacoma. The shooting occurred Tuesday afternoon just before dismissal, resulting in a lockdown and sending students and bystanders fleeing for safety. The victim, who is reportedly not a current student at the school, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was hospitalized. Police recovered the firearm used and believe there are no other suspects involved. The motive remains under investigation, and the suspect is being held on $250,000 bail. The incident has left the school community traumatized and support services have been made available.
