Danny Boyle is set to direct "Ink," a film adaptation of James Graham's award-winning play about Rupert Murdoch's rise in the media empire, focusing on his purchase and transformation of The Sun newspaper. Guy Pearce is in talks to portray Murdoch, with Jack O’Connell negotiating to play Larry Lamb, the man Murdoch hired to run The Sun in 1969. The story explores the rivalry between The Sun and The Mirror, which contributed to the rise of British tabloids. The screenplay is written by Graham, and production is expected to begin in October 2025, with Studiocanal financing the project. Boyle, who recently directed the successful "28 Years Later" sequel, is producing alongside Tessa Ross, Michael Ellenberg, and Tracey Seaward.
