Small Medical Jet Crashes, Causes Fireball Southend Airport
A small Beech B200 Super King Air medical transport plane crashed shortly after takeoff from Southend Airport, heading to Lelystad in the Netherlands, resulting in a large fireball and thick smoke visible near the nearby Rochford Hundred Golf Club. Multiple golfers at the club were seen running toward the crash site in attempts to help, while the golf club and nearby Westcliff Rugby Club were evacuated as a precaution. Emergency services, including Essex Police, fire, and ambulance crews, responded promptly and remain on the scene investigating the serious incident. Witnesses reported the pilots waved to children shortly before the crash, but the number of people on board and any casualties have not yet been confirmed. Authorities have asked residents to avoid the area while investigations continue. The cause of the crash remains unknown, with officials working closely with local agencies to provide further information.
