Uber Launches Price Lock, Senior, Pet Features Across India

Uber has launched a range of new features in India designed to enhance affordability, accessibility, and convenience for riders across more than 125 cities. Key offerings include Price Lock, allowing users to pay a small upfront fee to secure fares on frequent routes and avoid surge pricing; Wait & Save, which offers cheaper rides in exchange for longer wait times; and Airport Priority Access, providing streamlined pickups from airport terminals. To improve inclusivity, Uber will introduce a simplified app mode for seniors with larger buttons and fewer steps, as well as real-time tracking shareable with family members. Additional services include Courier XL for heavy parcel delivery up to 750 kg, Uber Pet for pet-friendly rides, and integration with the Open Network for Digital Commerce to enable metro ticket purchases directly through the Uber app, initially in Delhi with plans for expansion to Chennai and Mumbai. These updates reflect Uber’s commitment to addressing varied commuter needs, from cost-conscious riders to premium passengers, while expanding multimodal and accessible travel options.
