IDF Discovers Tunnel in Tulkarem During Operation

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) discovered a partially constructed underground tunnel near a hospital in Tulkarem, West Bank, during anti-terrorism operations targeting Hamas-affiliated groups. This marks an unusual find, as such tunnels are more commonly associated with Gaza, where Hamas has an extensive network. In recent operations, the IDF has eliminated several Hamas terrorists in Tulkarem and arrested approximately 5,000 individuals linked to terrorist activities since the October 7 massacre that killed 1,200 Israelis. Meanwhile, in Gaza, the Israeli military showcased tunnels in Rafah where six Israeli hostages were reportedly held before being killed, asserting that a significant tunnel network has been unearthed in the region. The IDF continues its efforts to locate and rescue the remaining 101 hostages believed to be held by Hamas. The ongoing violence has resulted in substantial casualties on both sides, with the Palestinian Authority reporting around 670 deaths among West Bank residents, the majority being combatants.
