Japanese Breakfast Releases New Single 'Mega Circuit'

Japanese Breakfast, led by Michelle Zauner, has released a new single titled 'Mega Circuit' from her upcoming album 'For Melancholy Brunettes (& Sad Women)', set to be released on March 21 via Dead Oceans. The track features a music video co-directed by Zauner and Adam Kolodny, showcasing a mix of adventurous visuals and themes related to contemporary masculinity. Zauner describes the song as an exploration of societal issues and a shift towards a darker, more guitar-driven sound compared to her previous work, 'Jubilee'. The album is produced by Grammy Award winner Blake Mills and includes the earlier single 'Orlando in Love', which Zauner performed on 'The Tonight Show'. Japanese Breakfast will embark on a North American tour starting with appearances at Coachella in April, followed by multiple shows in major cities. Zauner has expressed a personal connection to the themes in the album, citing a realization of the pressures she faced in her career.
