Memphis Tigers overcame a slow start to secure a 64-62 victory over Virginia, improving their season record to 9-2. Trailing 30-21 at halftime, Memphis surged in the second half thanks to PJ Haggerty, who scored 21 of his 27 points after the break, including key free throws down the stretch. Dain Dainja and Tyrese Hunter contributed 12 points each, with Dainja also grabbing 11 rebounds. Despite struggling with three-point shooting, hitting only 5 of 23 attempts, the Tigers showcased their resilience by dominating inside the paint. Virginia, now 6-5, lost at home for the first time this season and remains winless against ranked opponents.
