Air India Crash Kills 240+, One Survivor Found

Vishwashkumar Ramesh, a British national of Indian origin, is the sole survivor of the Air India Flight 171 crash in Ahmedabad, which killed over 240 people and is now among India's worst aviation disasters. Ramesh, who was seated in 11A near an emergency exit, escaped through a small opening after the door broke open, sustaining burns and minor injuries. He described the aircraft stalling after takeoff, then crashing and exploding. Experts believe his seat location was crucial to his survival, allowing him to escape before the plane was engulfed in flames. Ramesh has been treated at a local hospital, is reported out of danger, and has spoken with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his family in Leicester. Authorities have recovered the aircraft's black box and investigations into the cause of the crash continue.
