5-Year-Old Dies After Bounce House Incident

A tragic incident occurred during a Southern Maryland Blue Crabs game when a bounce house filled with children was lifted 15 to 20 feet into the air by a strong gust of wind before crashing down onto the baseball field. Five-year-old Declan Hicks from La Plata was airlifted to a hospital but later pronounced dead, while another child sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Emergency personnel, already present at the game, responded quickly to the scene after a 911 call was made. The bounce house had been set up for children's entertainment, and the game was subsequently canceled in light of the tragedy. The Blue Crabs organization expressed their condolences and plans to provide support and counseling for affected families.
