Police Constable and Accomplices Arrested for Theft

Multiple theft incidents involving police personnel have come to light recently. In Jalandhar, the police arrested two thieves following a complaint from a resident who reported a break-in and the theft of valuables worth approximately 60,000 rupees. In Chennai, a police constable and his accomplice were apprehended for robbing a man of 5.5 lakhs, which the victim claimed was hawala money, after they impersonated law enforcement officers. In another case from Mahoba, Uttar Pradesh, a constable was arrested for allegedly stealing jewelry and mobile phones from a fatally injured political leader after a road accident. The constable and his accomplices reportedly confessed to the theft during police interrogation. Investigations in all cases are ongoing, highlighting concerning issues of police misconduct.
