Netflix Sets 2026 Release for Henry Adaptation

Netflix will release its film adaptation of Emily Henry's bestselling novel 'People We Meet on Vacation' globally on January 9, 2026. The romantic comedy stars Emily Bader as Poppy Wright and Tom Blyth as Alex Nilsen, longtime best friends who reunite for one final vacation to mend their relationship. The ensemble cast includes Molly Shannon, Alan Ruck, Sarah Catherine Hook, Jameela Jamil, Lucien Laviscount, Lukas Gage, Miles Heizer, Tommy Do, and Alice Lee. The film is directed by Brett Haley and written by Yulin Kuang. This will be the first adaptation of Henry's works, with projects based on 'Beach Read,' 'Book Lovers,' and 'Happy Place' planned. The novel was a New York Times bestseller and has sold over 2 million copies in the U.S., and the teaser features the leads exchanging dialogue over vacation scenes.
