Sundance Film Festival Adds Two Documentaries

The Sundance Film Festival has announced the addition of two new documentaries, 'The Alabama Solution' by Andrew Jarecki and 'The Stringer' by Bao Nguyen, to its 2025 lineup. 'The Alabama Solution' explores the efforts of incarcerated men to expose a cover-up in a deadly prison system and will be released by HBO. Jarecki is a seasoned Sundance participant, having previously premiered acclaimed documentaries such as 'Capturing the Friedmans' and 'The Jinx'. 'The Stringer' investigates a scandal surrounding a famous photograph from the 20th century, revealing long-held secrets. Both films are set to premiere during the festival, which runs from January 23 to February 2, 2025, in Park City and Salt Lake City, Utah. Festival Director Kim Yutani highlighted the films as compelling additions that contribute to important discussions on justice and truth-telling.
