Scheffler, McIlroy Only Ryder Cup Qualifiers So Far

Scottie Scheffler has secured the only guaranteed spot on the U.S. Ryder Cup team so far after his strong season and Open Championship win, with the rest of the automatic qualifiers to be determined following the BMW Championship on August 17. Bryson DeChambeau, aided by major performances and a top-10 finish at The Open, is now confirmed for Team USA despite his LIV Golf affiliation. U.S. captain Keegan Bradley has highlighted DeChambeau's importance and remains a possible playing captain, depending on points or a captain's pick. The U.S. team will fill out with six automatic qualifiers and six captain’s picks. On the European side, only Rory McIlroy has clinched his spot, with captain Luke Donald aiming to repeat his 2023 victory. Both teams are finalizing their rosters as the Ryder Cup returns to Bethpage Black, New York, in September.
