Air Canada, WestJet Expand Winter Sun Networks

Air Canada and WestJet have announced major expansions of their Latin American and Caribbean networks for the winter 2025–26 season. Air Canada will resume non-stop flights from Montreal and Toronto to Lima, Peru, and add new services to Belize City, Puerto Escondido, and Tepic (Riviera Nayarit), marking its largest-ever winter capacity in the region. WestJet is launching five new international destinations—Panama City, Guadalajara, Riviera Nayarit, Havana, and Managua—alongside seasonal Winnipeg–Liberia flights and increased frequencies to Mexican destinations. Both carriers aim to meet rising demand for sun destinations, offering Canadians more direct and affordable winter travel options. These expansions also enhance cargo capacity and connectivity for leisure and business travelers across the Americas. The strategies underscore both airlines' efforts to capture a larger share of the winter getaway and cargo markets.
