Worcester Warriors Sign 16 Players Including Former England Star Twelvetrees Ahead of 2025 Championship Return
Worcester Warriors are rebuilding their squad from scratch under head coach Matt Everard in preparation for the 2025/26 rebranded Champ Rugby season, which offers a path to Premiership promotion. The club has signed 16 players including winger Alfie Garside, former England international Billy Twelvetrees who returns from retirement as a player-coach, and several key forwards such as props Tim Hoyt, Billy Keast, Fraser Balmain, and hooker Archie Vanes. Twelvetrees, with a 17-year career that includes 22 England caps and British & Irish Lions experience, brings valuable leadership and coaching expertise, reuniting with Everard. Other notable signings strengthening the squad are all-time Premiership try-scorer Josh Bassett, Uruguayan international Juan Gonzalez, former Warriors Matt Kvesic and Tiff Eden, and scrum-half Lloyd Williams. The club is also enhancing its coaching team with assistant coach Tom Cruse and strength and conditioning coach Will Cusack. Worcester Warriors are focused on building a competitive, energetic team to challenge for promotion and restore the club’s status after their recent administration and hiatus.
