A homeowner in Oceanside, California, fatally shot an alleged intruder armed with a rock and a stick on Monday night after the suspect forcibly entered the residence. The incident occurred at approximately 7:22 p.m. when the suspect, a 22-year-old man, entered through a sliding door and threw a rock at the male resident, injuring him. In response, the homeowner retrieved a firearm and fired three shots, hitting the intruder in the chest. Despite emergency personnel's attempts to revive him, the suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. Police indicated that the intruder had attempted to break into other homes prior to this incident, and an investigation is ongoing with no current threat to public safety. The identities of both the homeowner and the suspect have not been released.
