Armenia, Azerbaijan Finalize Peace Agreement Terms
Armenia and Azerbaijan have reached a significant milestone in their peace negotiations by agreeing on a draft peace treaty, which is now ready for signing. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that Armenia has accepted Azerbaijan's proposals concerning the previously contentious articles of the agreement. Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Ceyhun Bayramov confirmed that all articles of the peace agreement have been agreed upon, with Armenia expected to amend its constitution to remove any territorial claims against Azerbaijan. The agreement follows the recent withdrawal of Russian peacekeepers from the Karabakh region, which has heightened tensions over the last few decades. Furthermore, both sides are still negotiating the future presence of foreign monitors along their border, with Azerbaijan pushing for the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group. This diplomatic effort aims to establish lasting peace after decades of animosity between the two nations.
