Bob Dylan played a crucial role in shaping his biopic, A Complete Unknown, working closely with director James Mangold and actor Timothée Chalamet, who portrays him. Producer Peter Jaysen revealed that Dylan read through the entire script aloud with Mangold, only reading his own lines, and made extensive notes during the process. Despite not having final cut approval, Dylan's involvement was significant, as he wanted to ensure the film reflected his life accurately. Chalamet dedicated three months to immersing himself in the role, isolating himself from distractions to fully embody Dylan. The film, which depicts Dylan's rise to fame and his controversial switch from acoustic to electric guitar, has been well-received, contributing to Chalamet's Golden Globe nomination for best actor in a drama.
