In recent days, multiple tiger attacks have resulted in the deaths of farmers in Uttar Pradesh's Pilibhit and Kheri districts. A 45-year-old farmer was killed by a tiger while working in a sugarcane field in Kheri, prompting local authorities to advise residents to avoid the area and work on capturing the tiger. Meanwhile, in Pilibhit, a 60-year-old farmer was also attacked and dragged into the forest, marking the 11th tiger-related fatality in the district this year. Villagers expressed their anger by blocking highways, demanding better protective measures against tiger encroachments, and compensation for the victims' families. The forest department has initiated efforts to capture the responsible tigers, employing traps and camera surveillance, while facing criticism for their response to previous warnings about tiger sightings. Local officials are urging stricter enforcement of regulations to prevent illegal forest entry, which may lead to such tragic incidents.
