Alstom Wins €2 Billion New York Railcar Deal
French train manufacturer Alstom has secured a €2 billion ($2.3–2.4 billion) contract from the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority to supply M-9A rail cars for the Long Island Rail Road and Metro-North Railroad as part of an effort to modernize New York's transit network. The contract will be officially booked in the second quarter of Alstom's 2025/26 fiscal year, further strengthening the company's presence in the North American rail market. Additional details about the order are expected to be released in the coming days. This deal follows a recent contract for Alstom to deliver 35 electric trains to Bulgaria, highlighting the company's expanding global reach and ongoing leadership in sustainable mobility solutions.
