Modest Trade Market; Jets Make Limited Move
With the Nov. 4 trade deadline looming, leaguewide activity has remained modest and blockbuster deals appear unlikely as teams set high asking prices. The Pittsburgh Steelers recently acquired safety Kyle Dugger and say they remain open to deals as they seek wide receiver and defensive help. The New York Jets made a move, trading Michael Carter II for receiver John Metchie III, but despite a 1–7 start and trade speculation around core players such as Breece Hall, Quinnen Williams and Jermaine Johnson, the team has rebuffed many calls and signaled reluctance to part with cornerstone pieces. Miami’s front-office shakeup — including the firing of GM Chris Grier — has reopened the possibility Jaylen Waddle could be dealt, though the team previously rejected inquiries. Teams continue to show interest in edge rushers and mid-level pieces while franchises such as Tennessee have indicated they are unlikely to move stars like Jeffery Simmons, suggesting the deadline will produce a handful of targeted, modest trades rather than seismic shifts.
