German Coalition Leaders Make First Joint Kyiv Visit to Boost Ukraine Support

German parliamentary leaders Jens Spahn (CDU/CSU) and Matthias Miersch (SPD) made their first joint visit to Kyiv to reaffirm Germany's continued support for Ukraine amid the ongoing conflict. They emphasized that the strongest security guarantee for Ukraine is a well-equipped Ukrainian army, with plans to provide ongoing military assistance and discuss security guarantees in coordination with the United States. While they avoided detailed comments on the possible deployment of German troops in Ukraine, they did not dismiss the option, noting that various possibilities would be explored during negotiations.
