DNA Confirms Remains of Missing Woman Kada Scott

DNA testing confirmed the remains found in a shallow grave behind the vacant Ada H. Lewis Middle School are those of 23-year-old Kada Scott after a “very specific” anonymous tip prompted renewed searches. Police had earlier recovered Scott’s debit card, phone case, glasses and other items near the school; cellphone location data and surveillance footage link 21-year-old Keon King to Scott. King has been arrested and charged with kidnapping, stalking and related offenses and is being held on $2.5 million bail as prosecutors prepare additional charges. The remains were taken to the medical examiner’s office and a cause of death has not yet been determined; investigators are continuing to analyze forensic and video evidence.
