Ohio Teen Drowns in Lake Michigan at Grand Haven Beach

An 18-year-old Ohio man, Isaiah Edmond, drowned while swimming at Grand Haven City Beach in Lake Michigan. Witnesses saw him struggling outside the designated swim buoys, and a friend along with bystanders used a life ring to bring him back to shore. Despite emergency responders performing CPR and other life-saving measures, Edmond was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities noted that a Beach Hazard Statement was in effect with waves up to five feet and strong currents, and Edmond was not wearing a life jacket. Officials had warned against swimming due to the hazardous conditions. The Grand Haven police expressed condolences to the family during this difficult time.
