Port Vale Sign Australian Goalkeeper Joe Gauci on Season Loan

Port Vale have signed Australian international goalkeeper Joe Gauci on a season-long loan from Aston Villa to provide experienced cover and competition for Marco Marosi during Ben Amos's injury recovery. The 25-year-old, standing six foot four inches tall, has seven caps for Australia and has previously played for Adelaide United, Central Coast Mariners, Melbourne City, and had a loan spell at Barnsley. Gauci has made two appearances for Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup since his February 2024 transfer. Manager Darren Moore expressed enthusiasm about Gauci's experience in first-team and international football, highlighting the strong competition he will bring to the goalkeeping department at Vale Park. Gauci is the ninth signing for Port Vale this summer and is expected to integrate quickly into the squad. The club and manager look forward to working with him throughout the season.
