Florida Man Charged with Girlfriend's Murder After Body Found During Hurricane

Robert Hendrix, 32, has been charged with the second-degree murder of his girlfriend Kristin Carrier, 43, whose body was discovered wrapped in a tarp by his mother during Hurricane Milton in October 2024. Hendrix’s mother went to stay with him to ride out the storm and found Carrier's body in the doorway of the master's bedroom, leading her to call her daughter for help. Upon arrival, the daughter confronted Hendrix, who reportedly became animated before they contacted the police. An investigation revealed Carrier had suffered multiple gunshot and stab wounds, with evidence collected from the scene including a knife and a baseball bat. Hendrix, already in jail on unrelated charges, is believed to be the only person present in the home when the murder occurred. Witnesses reported hearing a woman yelling from the rear bedroom on the day of the incident.
