Google Rolls Out Material 3 Expressive to Pixel 6, Pixel Tablet, Chrome Android
Google is rolling out its Material 3 Expressive redesign to Pixel devices released since 2021, including the Pixel 6 and newer models, as well as the Pixel Tablet. This update introduces customizable features such as Live Effects for lock screen wallpapers, enhanced contact cards, and a redesigned Quick Settings pane to improve usability. Alongside these UI enhancements, Google is adding Adaptive Audio to Pixel Buds Pro 2, which adjusts sound based on surroundings and includes new gestures for call management. Pixel Watch users gain on-wrist navigation integration with Google Maps, and Gboard receives AI-powered writing tools that offer tone revision and grammar correction while preserving user privacy. Additionally, Android now supports simultaneous pairing of two LE Audio Bluetooth headphones, allowing shared listening experiences, with the option to create QR codes for group audio sharing. Google's Chrome app for Android is also receiving the Material 3 Expressive makeover, featuring modernized rounded buttons, an updated three-dot menu, and refreshed tab grid designs to enhance user interaction.
