PwC Enhances In-Office Requirements in UK

PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) has announced a new policy for its UK employees requiring them to work in the office or with clients at least 60% of their workweek, effective January 1. This change increases the in-office requirement from two to three days a week, with the intention of fostering stronger relationships and enhancing client service. To monitor compliance, PwC will share employees' location data monthly, which has raised concerns about trust between the firm and its workforce. Managing Partner Laura Hinton emphasized that in-person collaboration is crucial for the business's success and the development of employees. Experts warn that such tracking could negatively impact employee morale and trust, urging firms to regularly assess the necessity of monitoring. PwC is not alone in this approach, as other firms are also implementing similar return-to-office policies.
