Bengaluru will experience a planned power outage in several areas, including Sahakar Nagar and Amruthahalli, on September 21 from 10 AM to 4 PM due to maintenance work by the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM). In Chennai, scheduled power outages are set for September 19 and 20, affecting over 35 areas including Ambattur, Guindy, and Ponneri, with cuts lasting from 9 AM to 2 PM each day. The Tamil Nadu Power Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) is conducting these outages to ensure reliable electricity supply through necessary maintenance. Residents are advised to plan accordingly and can check for updates via TANGEDCO's official channels. BESCOM is also launching an electrical safety awareness campaign to prevent accidents as it focuses on maintenance post-monsoon challenges. The outages come as part of routine maintenance efforts to enhance grid reliability across both cities.
