Major League Baseball will return to the iconic Field of Dreams venue in Dyersville, Iowa, for a game between the Philadelphia Phillies and New York Mets in mid-June 2026, marking the third official MLB game at this location. The Field of Dreams game, inspired by the 1989 film, was first held in 2021 with the Chicago White Sox defeating the New York Yankees, and last played in 2022 when the Chicago Cubs beat the Cincinnati Reds. This event follows a four-year hiatus caused by construction at the site and continues MLB's tradition of hosting unique midseason games at historic or culturally significant venues. The Phillies and Mets rivalry, highlighted by their close competition in the National League East, adds anticipation to this special matchup. In 2025, instead of a Field of Dreams game, MLB will celebrate the Negro Leagues with a tribute game at Rickwood Field in Alabama.
