Germany Deepens Ties with Central Asia

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz emphasized the importance of strengthening relations with Central Asia during a recent summit in Astana, referring to it as a 'strategic goal for Germany'. He highlighted the increasing political, economic, and cultural exchanges between Germany and the five Central Asian republics: Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan. Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev underscored the significance of energy cooperation and invited German firms to explore rare earths and lithium deposits essential for battery production.
